Aromas of stone fruit, lemon grass, gooseberry and hints of passionfruit typical of the Awatere Valley. Fresh herb, tropical fruit and gooseberry characteristics on the palate with good concentration. A pleasing mineral note leads to a long lingering finish.
The Aware River brand has a special significance for Louis Vavasour. His family have farmed the Aware since 1887, and his parents planted the first vines in the Dashwood district in 1986. Louis bases his wines on Aware Valley fruit, of course, but incorporates grapes from other districts as necessary as often the been can result in a more complete and even wine. Fruit selected from three vineyards, stainless steel fermented. This is a well balanced fruit driven Sauvignon Blanc. Crafted to give the palate greater length whilst still retaining the true Marlborough finesse and elegance.

A mouth-wateringly delicious sauvignon, the lifted bouquet shows nectarine, rockmelon, feijoa and elegant herbaceous characters. The palate is juicy and intensely flavoured with superb fruit purity, leading to a lingering zesty finish. Love the vibrancy and succulent fruit flavours.

Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. This has a voluminous nose with a tightly bound core of passionfruit aromas entwined with gooseberry and grassy fruit, white stonefruits and florals and a subtle, chalky, flinty minerality. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruits are melded with white stonefruits, fresh herbs and mineral elements forming a firm, concentrated core and line. The mouthfeel is dry and very fine-textured with lively, piquant and slippery acidity enhancing the flow. The palate carries to a fine-textured, bright finish with passionfruit and herb notes. This is a tightly concentrated, fine-textured, smooth-flowing, dry Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and mineral flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2+ years. 70% Awatere Valley from 3 vineyards, and 30% Wairau Valley fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel.
